Spelling Words

Term 3 Spelling

This term we will be launching a spelling programme called Alpha to Omega.  Over the next week we will test our students in all three classrooms and then group them according to ability.   The Syndicate will timetable two spelling sessions a week and further practice and spelling games will be provided during regular teaching time in each classroom.  Please bear with us as we work through this process and get the spelling programme up and running.

Term 2 Spelling
This term we will be basing our spelling words around different topics we are covering in class.  For example, this week the words relate to measurement.  The test will continue to be given on a Friday and there will be some opportunity for the children to practise their words in class time.  Please support them by encouraging your child to learn how to spell the words at home.

The following words need to be learned "off by heart".  Your child has been tested on Lists 1-3 in the first few weeks of the year and you will see which words they are unsure of.  Please support them in learning these words as well as the the specific spelling words they bring home.
